I’m one of those people who loves the year-end lists of what’s out and what’s in; so, I decided to create my own list for the New Year. This is not only a personal list but also a list of ideas I will share with and challenge my clients to incorporate into their lives. Perhaps some of these will resonate with you as you step into 2015…out with the old and in with the new!
|1. The glorification of being busy.||1. Doing nothing|
|2. Running on empty||2. Sacred rest (don’t know what this is…? It’s quite simply laying down and resting for 10 minutes a day…it’s related to #1, but not quite the same)|
|3. Multi-tasking.||3. Doing one thing, and only one thing, at a time|
|4. 24-hour attachment to mobile devices||4. Time off the grid, in nature, without connectivity.|
|5. Fearing what others think of my choices, my lifestyle, or me.||5. Honoring my true authentic self and proudly living from that place.|
|6. Making choices based on fear of loss or failure.||6. Choosing to do things because they feel delicious.|
|7. Doing things I think I ‘should’.||7. Only doing things I want to do (no ‘shoulding’ all over myself!)|
|8. Comparing my behind the scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.||8. Contentment with who I am; appreciation for all I have.|
|9. Rushing||9. Strolling and wandering.|
|10. Letting my ego run the show.||10. Allowing the Divine to take the lead.|
I’ll be elaborating on each of these on the “what’s in” list in future blog posts as they are definitely worth some further explanation. Do you have any you want to add to the list? Please comment and share! I’d love to continue to have this list grow based on your thoughts and ideas.
